Kat Von D Reveals Holiday 2015 Eyeshadow Palette

Kat Von D finally reveals one of Holiday 2015 Eyeshadow Palettes called Mi Vida Loca (REMIX). Kat Von D began with this teaser on her brand’s Instagram page Kat Von D Beauty.

Screen Shot 2015-07-15 at 8.15.37 AMShe’s calling the palette Mi Vida Loca (REMIX) and it’ll be a part of the Holiday 2015 collection. The cover is her original artwork as usual and stunning.

Screen Shot 2015-07-15 at 8.16.43 AMThe brand will also be releasing another palette, Mi Vida Loca (ORIGINAL) (bottom). Honestly, I’m a bit bummed that they chose to go back to the original palette packaging.

Finally, the reveal. My initial thoughts were WOW bright colors, I really hope they are pigmented. Then my mind immediately went to, what the heck were they thinking when they decided to lay the shadows out that way. I’m all about cute themes but excess packaging is never okay in my book. It just looks awkward to me, plus it’s wasted materials + more going into the landfills eventually.

Launch date and price haven’t been released yet, but I’ll keep you guys posted.

So what do you guys think about this palette? Are you excited about it?

Omg I saw this on Instagram and it’s pretty. I just can’t believe how early holiday editions are coming out! Time to save money for early Christmas shopping lol.

    • missalinamina Author at 6:28 pm

I know it’s so crazy! I think it’s great though, usually we don’t have this much lead time to save money!

  2. Aimee Lea at 6:33 pm

I think the Mi Vida Loca (REMIX) palette is amazballs!
Such a great idea and the palette stands out from the rest which is definitely what KAT VON D has been doing since she released her line of makeup.

  3. Brittney at 6:33 pm

Wow! Those colors are absolutely beautiful! Can’t wait for you do do a full review on them πŸ™‚ you are definitely right though the packaging is tedious but nonetheless flattering. Hopefully they live up to its name!

  4. Shivani at 6:36 pm

I think the Kat Von D Holiday palette is amazing! I love that the colors are so bright and if the pigmentation is worth it, the palette would be completely worth it! I love the bright blue, gold, and red!!

  5. krista at 6:38 pm

I’m not excited. I get the idea, it’s a “record”, but I think the inside is hideous. Too bright, too oddly laid out, just all around unpleasant to the eye. Kat Von D’s other palettes are so pretty and this one just seems blah (even with all the bright colors). I’ll save my money for other palettes/holiday releases.

    • missalinamina Author at 10:27 pm

I’m annoyed by the packaging but I’m still going to get it. At least to do a first impressions/review for you guys. If I hate it, it’s going back to the store!

  6. Aliya Georgia at 6:43 pm

Ooooh! I have to say it is visually stunning, but I agree that there seems to be a lot of wasted space. I am interested to see how pigmented they turn out to be!

  7. Judy at 6:52 pm

    Hi Alina,

The colors are gorgeous, but I don’t think I will be purchasing it when it release. Those are not the colors I would use on a daily basis. They do remind me of my colorful chalks in my art kit. haha Thanks for the giveaway btw.

  8. Kayla lane at 6:53 pm

I really love all the colors and the packaging is always on point.I also like how all the Nuetrals are in the center of the pallet. I’m hoping the pigmentation is excellent however it usually is. Super excited about these two pallets!!

  9. Kayla lane at 6:55 pm

The packaging is beautiful like always as well as the colors! I also like how all the Nuetrals are all in the middle. I just hope these are super pigmented and can’t wait for the release of these two pallets!!

Wow – such bright colors in the Mi Vida Loca (REMIX) palette! I’ve been sucker for neutrals but looking to step it up! πŸ˜‰ Found your youtube channel while looking into the Too Faced Love palette – great review! πŸ™‚

  11. Kathy at 7:03 pm

I think its beautiful but not too practical as its so large, bulky and colours may tend to be too bright for me personally. I have the 2013 holiday palette and same thing visually stunning but hard to store and I rarely use it or did in the past even. I am excited for the hourglass xmas palette. Thanks for the giveaway, appreciated!!

  12. Paulina Rios at 7:19 pm

First Love the name Mi Vida Loca(Remix)!! that has a name in my language, I love it, its colors are beautiful and the packaging too, I hope the sell in my country! Also I’m interested to see how pigmented they turn out to be.

  13. Charlie at 7:45 pm

The palette’s colors really wowed me, that much’s for sure, but I have to agree about the packaging. It pulls me back to art class and staring at the color wheel, and while the idea is definitely something that isn’t usually done, I wouldn’t say that I love it. I’d be fine with a standard layout of shadows going horizontally and vertically; which is not to say that this looks COMPLETELY horrible. Just a little… avant garde. I do love how the neutrals are in the center of the packaging, and how the colors are arranged for a smooth transition from each shade to the next. But no matter how creative or unique the design is, I agree that so much plastic is probably going to waste. I still want to try this out though, and test the pigmentation of these fun colors for myself!

  14. Ashley at 7:48 pm

Personally it doesn’t intrigue me. I LOVE Kat Von D products and packaging usually, but this packaging is just excessive. Too big and I don’t like the way the shadows are laid out.

  15. Marlene at 8:06 pm

Overall I did like the palette ! It has a lot of colors and the name is cool . The packaging is not as cute in my taste but for whoever likes wearing a lot of bright colors this is the right palette πŸ™‚

  16. Brionna brymer at 8:17 pm

The colors are beautiful and I don’t have anything like this in my collection, but the layout of the shadows bug me lol. I love the preview of the holiday palettes though! I can’t wait to see more!!

  17. Christine at 8:56 pm

I think the palette is beautiful. But as someone who doesn’t wear bright colors all too often, I don’t think I’ll purchase it!

    • missalinamina Author at 10:29 pm

They haven’t shown the contents of the smaller palette but I imagine it’ll be a little more wearable.

  18. Michelle Fitch at 11:23 pm

Ahhh, So So many PALETTES, AND so so little $$$$ πŸ™ and the really sad thing is, I love all of them right now, I may treat myself to the too faced one….Which one should I treat myself too? I would either get the Too Faced one, or the Naked Smoky….but I am TERRIBLE at a smoky eye, I get fallout and end up looking like a racoon even after I clean up…that’s just a hint about my makeup skills before I take everyone’s advice lol….

    • missalinamina Author at 12:55 am

Between the Too Faced Love palette and Naked Smoky I would definitely suggest the LOVE palette. It’s much more user friendly and it’s a Limited Edition item. πŸ™‚

  19. Grace at 11:47 pm

I thought it was great cause It had a TON of colors to choose from and you can creat almost any eyeshadow look with this one palette! Although like you said I wish they stuck with the original packaging! It’s so much cuter πŸ™‚

  20. April at 9:42 am

I Kat Von D, she is definitely known for being bold! I would probably only use about half of this palette. Im not a bold, statement type person. For those who are however, the Mi Vida Loca (REMIX) would be an awesome addition to their collection! #flashgiveaway

    • missalinamina Author at 10:30 pm

I think for most people this palette would be a waste. I happen to love crazy colors so I’m all about it!

  21. Suzanne G at 9:50 am

The colours are very vibrant but there are a few I would not use. I don’t think it is a palette I will purchase. I also do not care for the layout of the palette.

    • missalinamina Author at 10:31 pm

Yea the layout is super awkward! It’ll probably be $59 like last years, which is way too much if you aren’t going to use all the colors.

  22. Kelsey Shaner at 2:13 pm

What an amazing first impression from this palette. There is so much going on with the cases, the designs are very intricate and flashy. This would definitely catch the eye of anyone in any given store. As for the colors, this palette covers essentially the whole spectrum. I am excited about this product because if I decide to purchase it will include every color that I DON’t have.

Thank you for sharing! This is the first announcement I have seen about this new product! I love how up to date and on the ball you are.

Shared on all social platforms. I hope you gain some more traffic πŸ™‚

    • missalinamina Author at 10:33 pm

Thanks so much doll! I love makeup so much and I love being “in the know” and sharing my passion with you guys. πŸ™‚

  23. Mabel Medrano at 3:11 pm

I think the palette looks amazing! To me it was interesting to see so many colours for a holiday palette! It is a little bit out the for me but I’d love to see how it looks on!

  24. Madiha at 3:12 pm

I think the palette looks amazing! The packaging is so different and cool and I love how the colours range from bright yellows etc to more neutral everyday colours! Great post as always πŸ™‚ Also, your vlogs recently have been soo amazing <3

  25. Vanessa at 6:01 pm

The palette’s packaging looks beautiful and the color selection is amazing. From a practical point of view I would never reach for bold colors like these and it looks too bulky. Still, it is getting me excited for the holiday collections, I can’t believe it’s coming so fast.

    • missalinamina Author at 10:31 pm

I’m wondering if I could maybe depot the shadows and put them in a z palette so it’s not so bulky. hmmmm

  26. Japanlifeee at 10:12 pm

Kat Von D always makes such an awesome packaging. I agree on it having excess packaging tho. But giiiirl, the colora are awesome! I how I wish we have it here in Japan.

  27. RB at 10:27 pm

THE NUDE AND BLUE SHADES ARE ALL A GIRL NEEDS! Those are the prettiest colours and love love love this idea of commenting and winning, so amazing!

  28. Erin at 10:41 pm

I really love the colours from the Mi Vida Loca palette, I agree with your statement on the packaging though, but I guess it ties together well with the Kat Von D brand and what she’s all about! It’s not your everyday simple eyeshadow palette and I think it’s cool that she decided to switch it up a little. Great post!

Hmm. This is fun to look at, until I remember it’s eye shadow and I’m supposed to, y’know, use it. It’s really overwhelming to look at, and most of the colors are a bit intimidating (although sometimes I wish I could be more bold with my eyeshadow!). That being said, those neutrals are perfect! While this would look great when displayed on my vanity, overall, I’d say it’s too bulky.

It looks really pretty.love the colors&how it look diffrent but as much as i like packaging im somwhat leary of holiday releases

  31. Maggie at 11:28 pm

I already have a MAC pallete that I custom built. I will likely buy this because I like the brand but one day I’m going to depot all of KVDs stuff! Her packaging is always bulky.

  32. Gloria Ramirez at 11:40 pm

I like the different colors, but like you said the packaging is just awkward. They should have tried something a little more appealing.

  33. Steph Stewart at 1:03 am

I love this Kat Von D palette! I don’t have any of her others and I’ve said before that I’m kinda afraid of bright colors, but I’ve been trying to experiment lately..and I think this one looks amazing. The layout is probably wasteful but it’s very eyecatching. Andddd…I haven’t commented on anything in awhile but I always creep on your stuff and I’m like..does she always look that pretty? What. The. Heck.

    • missalinamina Author at 10:49 pm

LOL I love getting those random comments from you! I’m really hoping this palette is much more pigmented than last year’s holiday palette.
Also, with your eyes you should be wearing every color of the rainbow. #jelly LOL

  34. Jennifer Martinez at 1:22 am

I agree packaging is a bit strange but I bet the colours are fantastic! I have her
shade and light contour palette and love it!

    • missalinamina Author at 10:48 pm

I love how she shows us the whole process from the initial sketches to the final product. I love behind the scenes stuff!

  35. nancy at 2:20 am

After reading your comments on it, I get what you mean by it being kind of strangely assorted so I’m not interested. Plus, I don’t used colored eyeshadow too often besides green and purple

  36. Alex C. at 3:21 am

I am SO excited for this palette! I remember voting for it when Kat had a poll asking which one we’d love to come back. The colors all look amazing πŸ™‚ I love incorporating bolder colors when I feel I can pull it off and am definitely getting this once I have enough $ for it, lol.

    • missalinamina Author at 10:47 pm

Kat Von D is pretty awesome when it comes to bright colors. She has some really bright colored eyeliners too!

  37. Lacey at 9:02 am

It looks reallly pretty, but I don’t know how much I’d use it. Honestly I might buy it for one of my friend who loves to wear bright colors, but I’m more of a neutrals kind of girl πŸ™‚
